Blocked Toilet

toiletIf you flush the toilet and the waste won’t go then you have a blocked or clogged toilet.

A blocked toilet can be caused by a number of things

  • a blocked main drain,
  • too much toilet paper, or tissues
  • Nappies and/or baby wipes
  • Toilet cleaners that hang on the side of the bowl
  • Cat litter
  • Toilet Brushes
  • Even toys have been found to cause a blocked toilet
  • In fact young children are often found to have flushed a whole toilet roll…

How do you unclog the toilet?

When you flush a toilet the water droplets can travel up to 8 feet in their air, this means repeatedly trying to flush a blocked toilet is incredibly unhygienic. Repeated flushing can also cause the water to overflow and flood your bathroom or additional toilet area.

For a small blockage you might try a plunger, but if you suspect that its the main drain causing the toilet blockage then you are best off calling in the experts – us! Because you cannot use that toilet until it’s unblocked.

We’re available 24-7 for plumbing emergencies such as unblocking your toilets.

If your toilet repeatedly blocks it could be low water pressure, this means when you flush there isn’t enough pressure to push away the waste  through your toilet system.
